Feature Song of the Day
Like A Prayer

Super Bowl 46 might have officially came to an end but the talk of the media week will still be buzzing over the game, commercials and the performance critics of Madonna. I enjoyed the commercials very much. I enjoyed the electrifying performance of Madonna and the selected guests she had to help her pull off this great show. I can't imagine Lady Gaga or many of the stars we have today climbing up the charts being around in 30 or 40 years to perform a show as this that Madonna did.
I am certain that one day, we'll be asking who is Lady Gaga and the many techno one hit wonders that are being produced today. With glitz or without, Madonna is still making musical history using more class than I have ever seen her possess. But I am a true Madonna fan so yes, I am prejudice and loyal in my views to Madonna in my comments about her Super Bowl performance. I do wish the Patriots would have won and I'll keep watching and rooting for them until they do. And they will:)
I chose the song Like A Prayer as my feature today. Falling into the peer pressure of the Super Bowl hype myself of headlines, I figured that I would make one beneficial contribution to the many out there by giving those who want to learn a song by Madonna a chance to.
I chose YouTube uploader rafiinhacrispim- http://youtu.be/UEF96v37DqI as my feature of Madonna's Like A Prayer performance. Her singing and acoustic blend to claim this song on guitar shows skills of her talent to perform and sing with accuracy. This song is very hard to do without the techno glitz, glam and the accompany of a choir. However, I feel she really pulled it off. I really like how the camera shows her technique also in claiming chords.
If you preview this 1:36 performance of Like A Prayer you will notice her chord usage with finger placement. The astonishing aspects of her performance is that you will also see how she blends her playing techniques by listening to the solo strums. She also gives a slight bending of the strings with a mild muting going on and appears to me that she is even doing sporatic hammer ons and offs of the strings at various points of the song. I am not sure if your visuals are very good at learning a song by watching but I feel anyone who wants to learn this song can very well do so by the performance given by this YouTube viewer in doing pause by pause play action to capture it.
Video Lesson using software and tab technique teaches you how to play Like A Prayer. http://youtu.be/qNVGH-K4FsI - I am in the process of learning several songs using their software. It is not for anyone not patient at heart. But it is very user friendly in slowing down the music to the learning you need. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to learn a precise way to capture all that a song has in store on a guitar to try this website and their software. It is truly the hardest learning curve I have had in patience to grasp onto but the sounds of the notes are impeccable when claiming your own version of it too. It helps the learning process by allowing you to express yourself with more freedom of playing creativity than what most guitar teaching methods allow when playing on a guitar.
